Description
Experience Treehaven's trails by the light of the full moon! This naturalist-led hike will take you on a sensory adventure as you observe the wonders of the moonlit forest. Learn about nocturnal wildlife and the enhanced senses that help them traverse the darkness, then put your own nighttime senses to the test through a series of hands-on activities that explore sight, sound, smell, and touch!
Meet at the main entrance (double doors with Treehaven sign). DRESS WARM, it will be chilly! Layers, hats, gloves, and good hiking shoes recommended. Flashlights welcome, but hike leader may request lights be turned off at various times to suit activities. Hike will cover 1 mile, with frequent stops along the way. Terrain will be mostly even, but a few light to moderate inclines may be encountered.
Cost: $5 per adult, $2 per child. Payment can be made through Eventbrite (subject to Eventbrite fees), or in cash/check at the door. If paying at the door, please email fcarvis@uwsp.edu or call 715-346-2435 to register, and bring exact change the day of the event. This event is suitable for all ages, but families may have the most exciting experience. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
